Ezri’s Black Belt Journey
Celebrating Achievements in Martial Arts!
We’re thrilled to spotlight Ezri, who has just earned her first-degree black belt! In a recent interview, she shared her journey, and the insights are truly inspiring.
From Spectator to Champion
Ezri’s journey began in the seats, watching her brother Ivan shine on the mat. “I started off actually in the seats, watching Ivan do his stuff,” she recalled. Her desire to join the fun propelled her into karate, and little did she know how transformative this experience would be.
Finding Friendship and Growth
Along the way, Ezri discovered not only her passion for martial arts but also a community of amazing friends. “I’ve learned quite a few life skills,” she mentioned, reflecting on the deeper lessons she gained throughout her training.
The Power of Perseverance
Ezri’s mom emphasized the importance of commitment, noting the tough moments when Ezri felt like skipping class. “There were times when she was like, ‘I don’t want to go to karate class,’ but she wanted her black belt, so she kept going and working towards her goal.” This resilience is a testament to her dedication and determination.
Her dad echoed these sentiments, praising her commitment to stick with something she loved. “It’s been great to see her pick something and go for it,” he said proudly.
Words of Wisdom for Fellow Strugglers
For anyone feeling stuck or struggling to reach their goals, Ezri has some valuable advice: “Talk to people, get help from other people.” She emphasized the importance of a supportive community, saying that both her family and her karate family played a significant role in her success. “Find a friend, commit to getting there with them,” she suggested—a perfect reminder of the power of collaboration and support.
